DeVries is seeking a Senior Vice President client management to work across clients in the beauty and consumer space at our New York office (hybrid). The Senior Vice President plays a critical role in determining the future and long-term success of the agency.
Accountable for strategic leadership of integrated campaigns across influencer, social and media relations in collaboration with external partners (e.g. paid and retail). Proven track record of leading teams to deliver narratives and strategies to elevate brands, drive product awareness, and positively impact sales, buzz, and sentiment with command of how to measure and explain success. Passionate about culturally relevant storytelling.
Responsible for meeting revenue and profitability targets, managing talent resources, and driving organic and new business growth.
Requires developing strong client relationships, strategically leading internal teams of cross-functional experts (e.g. strategy, analysis, creative, influencer, social, media relations), external partners, media, and influencers to amplify brand stories and effectively engage with target audiences. Must have command of influencer, social and media relations strategic mix decision-making, landscape understanding, social channel algorithm changes, influencer and owned content best practices for paid, owned and earned usage, what makes news, knowledge of steps required for execution and proficient in analyzing results to distill indicated actions.
Primary Responsibilities
Proactively generate earned media value through compelling storytelling across influencer, owned social, and media relations with an understanding of how to amplify through paid, retail, OOH, etc.
Lead cross-functional agency team to deliver consistent communication narratives and strategies that elevate brands and drive product awareness.
Provide strategic counsel and thoughtful execution to clients, acting as their trusted advisor and developing senior marketing and communications client relationships.
Maintain a big picture look and forward-thinking to calculate risk, assess opportunities and identify challenges. Proactively troubleshoot, connect dots and propel innovation (for the client and agency).
Be an expert on the client’s business challenges and opportunities, offer proactive and unsolicited counsel, ideas, and programming that achieves client objectives.
Have command of program analytics and interpreting results to make strategic decisions to steer teams and clients to achieve superior results.
Provide leadership to the account team, enabling, stimulating, and challenging the team to deliver powerful, integrated ideas and solutions for your clients based on business goals, research, and relevant insights.
Regularly seek client feedback on the agency’s performance and promote team accomplishments.
Cultivate positive morale and reinforce a sense of camaraderie across your teams and the agency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
12+ years of agency and/or client-side experience in all facets of communications, including brand-building storytelling, cultural relevance, influencer, social, media relations, product launches, and holistic campaigns (earned, owned and paid)
Ability to identify and successfully pursue new business opportunities for integrated communications with existing and new clients.
Ability to build strong relationships and immerse yourself in the client’s business
Experience leading and mentoring cross-functional teams
Time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple deliverables and timelines at once
Experience managing financials, including budgets and billing, projections, and staffing
Experience managing P&Ls for individual businesses and/or group of businesses
Track record of delivering strong financial results and organic business growth
Expert at leading and pitching plans, ideas and campaigns, in addition to proposals for new business development
Experience with leading analytics and measurement efforts tied to a brand’s customer journey (beyond just share of voice)
Superb people management skills with the ability to attract, motivate, empower, coach, and retain staff
Charismatic and effective presentation skills – the ability to artfully tell a story

Salary range: $150,000 - $250,000
