Senior Scrum Master/Business Analyst (P&C domain)

LocationL: Richmond, VA (onsite)

Duration: 12 months

Position type: W2 contract

Mandatory Skills

Scrum Master/Business Analyst with experience in Azure DO, Jira, Confluence, and claims experience.

Technical Skills

  • Azure (DO):
  • Proficiency in using Azure Boards for planning, tracking, and discussing work across teams.
  • Jira:
  • Experience in configuring and managing Jira projects, workflows, screens, permissions, and schemes.
  • Ability to create and maintain dashboards, reports, and filters for team visibility.
  • Competence in integrating Jira with other tools and plugins to enhance project management capabilities.
  • Confluence:
  • Skilled in creating and organizing Confluence spaces and pages to serve as a knowledge base for project documentation and collaboration.
  • Experience in using Confluence for requirements gathering, meeting notes, product documentation, and collaborative work.

Industry Knowledge

  • Property and Casualty Insurance:
  • In-depth understanding of P&C insurance concepts, products, and market trends.
  • Knowledge of underwriting, claims processing, policy administration, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as ACORD.

Scrum And Agile Practices

  • Scrum Mastery:
  • Strong grasp of Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
  • Experience facilitating Scrum events (sprints, sprint planning, retrospectives, daily stand-ups, etc.).
  • Ability to coach teams and the organization on Scrum adoption.
  • Business Analysis:
  • Proficient in requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management.
  • Skill in translating business needs into user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience with backlog grooming, prioritization, and roadmap planning.

Soft Skills

  • Leadership and Communication:
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and facilitate the team through the Agile process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and team members.
  • Problem-Solving:
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and provide pragmatic solutions.
  • Collaboration and Facilitation:
  • Ability to facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborative spirit to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Certifications (optional But Beneficial)

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
  • Certifications in Azure (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) or Atlassian products.

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience working as a Scrum Master or Business Analyst in the claims will added advantage.
  • Previous experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) in an Agile environment.
