About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Network/Systems Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing secure hybrid networks - datacenter and cloud hosted.


The ideal candidate would be familiar with DevOps/GitOps frameworks and have a good understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code paradigm. Automation is a crucial part of this role thus familiarity with bash scripting and declarative configuration tools such as Terraform, Ansible would be advantageous. Hands on experience with open-source technologies pertinent to network infrastructure desirable.

Responsibilities:

1. Network Design and Optimization:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance network architectures.
  • Optimize network performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring maximum security, availability and reliability.
  • Build out and maintain automation platform responsible for provisioning and managing configuration of firewalls and switches.

2. Firewall Administration:

  • Design, implement, and manage Fortinet firewall solutions to ensure the security and

integrity of the organization's network.

  • Manage compliance configuration of Fortigate firewall fleet via Fortimanager.
  • Build and deploy Fortimanager configuration templates via Terraform/Ansible.

3. Network Security:

  • Implement and enforce security policies, protocols, and procedures to protect the network infrastructure from unauthorized access, attacks, and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with security department to address emerging threats relevant to network infrastructure.
  • Work with independent auditors to validate network design & operations

4. Monitoring and Analysis:

  • Implement and manage network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact the network.
  • Conduct regular analysis of network traffic and performance to identify areas for improvement.

5. Documentation:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to junior team members as needed.
  • Create a 24/7 incident response playbook

6. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide regular updates on network status and projects.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven hands-on experience as a Network Engineer, with a
  • focus on firewall management.
  • In-depth knowledge of firewall technologies, network protocols, and security best
  • practices.
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
