Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Retail Operations, is responsible for improving processes and driving change to enhance our customer experience and maintain stores for retail excellence. This individual needs to be independent yet work cross-functionally effectively to move projects from inception to execution. They will identify and recommend improvements in operational efficiencies, processes, and collaborate in the development, implementation, and communication of these plans.

This individual will manage multiple brands including NARS, Drunk Elephant, Shiseido, Clé de Peau Beauté, Tory Burch, Hermès, Narciso Rodriguez, and Issey Miyake, with a focus on Shiseido and Clé de Peau Beauté, across multiple US retail partners (Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Saks Fifth Avenue).

This role reports to the Executive Director, Business Operations & Analytics

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional brand teams to identify, plan, and refine operational excellence for both Visual Merchandising & Store Maintenance.
  • Own visual merchandising, repair, and maintenance expense budget to accurately allocate, track, monitor and broadly communicate spend to budget risks and opportunities.
  • Provide input for visual merchandising and supply ordering for brand department stores and boutiques.
  • Initiate service repairs and maintenance activation for department stores based on Sell Thru Field Sales requests, ensuring service is completed timely and accurately.
  • Compile, and update Retail Maintenance Tracker consistently, sharing updates with Sales Communication for publication via SCOOP. Lead bi-weekly calls with Sell Thru Leaders for clear, 2-way communication.
  • Redevelop the point-of-sale visual merchandising unit request ordering process, including the creation and management of request forms, in collaboration with Sales Operations, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and Sales Leaders, sharing process with Sales Communication for publication via SCOOP.
  • Provide monthly point-of-sale visual merchandising unit request status updates with Sales Communication for publication via SCOOP.
  • Partner with Visual Merchandising team to secure timely, seasonal in-store, visual guidelines.
  • An impactful, trouble shooting, single point of contact fielding questions and providing support for Sell Thru team.
  • Lead and manage the communication and implementation of evergreen & seasonal in-store visual merchandising maintenance from end to end.
  • Create and refine operational processes and training material communication to drive efficiency and ensure in-store compliance, in support of Sell Thru Field Sales.
  • Proactively communicate project status and timelines, issues, and risks.
  • Maintain visibility on new store opening timelines, partnering internally with both Directors of Store Design and Visual Merchandising cross-functionally to ensure successful store openings, remodels, relocations, and closures. Partner with internal Store Design to resolve outstanding needs for all in-store work.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 2 - 4 years project management experience in retail management required.
  • Ability to travel as needed for on-site inspections, etc.
  • New York City based hybrid role, subject to change as corporate policies may be updated to support business needs.
  • Able to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Experienced in process development implementation.
  • Able to professionally challenge decisions which may compromise operational standards and requirements, while responding pragmatically and in the best interests of the company
  • Able to manage through ambiguity and change while maintaining priorities.
  • Demonstrate excellence in planning, multi-tasking, project and time management skills.
