Global Tax Compliance Manager

Basic Function

HF Sinclair in Dallas is seeking a Global Tax Compliance Manager to manage multiple direct and indirect tax matters for rest of world (“ROW”) operations.

Job Duties

  • Manages direct and indirect tax support for Company’s operations outside of North America (ROW), including management of local advisors and corresponding with local tax authorities
  • Manages and/or oversees ROW direct and indirect compliance efforts, including management of tax compliance deadlines/deliverables and any local tax audits
  • Leads tax support to Accounting/external auditors with respect to the preparation of local statutory filings to ensure tax accounts are appropriately stated
  • Reviews ROW transfer pricing policies and supports effort to prepare transfer pricing documentation for ROW operations, including local files (where applicable) and any secondary filings
  • Conducts tax research and provides technical support to other personnel, as needed
  • Other special assignments or tasks may be assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

EXPERIENCE

Five to eight years of direct tax experience required, with experience as a manager with a public accounting firm (Big 4 or midmarket) and/or reputable multinational company preferred.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Taxation or related field is required, with a Master’s degree preferred. If no Master’s degree, then a professional designation (CPA or other equivalent) is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Proficient English written and verbal communication skills is mandatory. The position requires international tax experience and will require regular contact and the establishment of working relationships with Corporate (primarily Accounting, Legal, and Treasury) management personnel globally. The individual must be able to work effectively with all relevant departments to find solutions that are best from a global perspective. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision making skills, and the ability to research, plan, organize, and direct complex tax assignments. The individual should be proficient with spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications.

PREFERRED SKILLS

EXPERIENCE with indirect tax matters, outstanding organizational and time management skills, including prioritization of multiple assignments, and the ability to work independently. EXPERIENCE with SAP a plus.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for the management of employees and projects.

Work Conditions

Office based with up to 10% travel required by land or air.
