Description

The Senior Director of Compliance is to oversee the overall compliance and recertification for the affordable housing portfolio. The Sr. Director of Compliance will set goals, provide strategic leadership and direction to the department, and ensure that all policies and guidelines are updated to reflect industry standards and rules set by all governing bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a comprehensive compliance program that is continually updated with the best practices.
  • Perform file reviews, regulatory report and manage agency audits.
  • Hold weekly calls with at risk properties to review and discuss issues.
  • Work with Property Management and Leasing teams to clear violations and maintain integrity of the portfolio.
  • Review occupancy summaries, unit status and asset reports.
  • Manage full cycle recertification process.
  • Ensure properties are prepared for on-site and off-site agency reviews and audits.
  • Develop and track benchmarks and prepare monthly benchmarking reports.
  • Ensure database and contact sheets are accurate, organized, and complete.
  • Create and Implement Standard Operating Procedures for Compliance Department.
  • Oversee annual compliance review, including forensic testing and management reporting on results.
  • Manage regulatory examinations and all compliance and legal related issues.
  • Integrate and develop new compliance program and procedures for portfolio.
  • Work closely with firm’s various functional teams on implementing, monitoring, and updating all necessary compliance policies and procedures.
  • Direct the day-to-day compliance tasks and compliance teams.
  • Keep the firm current with new rules, regulations, and other legal and compliance requirements.
  • Manage compliance calendar.
  • Manage Compliance Manual updates and related policies and procedures.
  • Travel required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of Affordable Housing Compliance, manager level or above
  • Bachelor's Degree in related area preferred.
  • State or Federal certification in Affordable Housing.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret regulatory agreements, reports, and legal documents.
  • Analytical thinking, data collection, problem solving, and decision making are essential.
  • Ability to follow and apply National Practices.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Travel required.
