Position Description
The Single Cell Core (SCC) facility at Harvard Medical School is a center of expertise and excellence in single-cell genomic and spatial transcriptomic assays. Researchers from across the community turn to us for help in design and execution of experiments. The Single Cell Core (SCC) at Harvard Medical School is seeking a Research Assistant to join our group. The candidate will be directly supervised by the Directors of the SCC to learn single cell RNA-sequencing and spatial transcriptomics methods, to perform/ execute experiments, assist in the optimization and validation of new technologies and procedures and generate data from various genomics workflows. The candidate must be careful and detail oriented with excellent communication skills, and able to present their work to the group in lab meetings and regional scientific meetings. This is an opportunity to learn cutting-edge techniques at the forefront of next-generation sequencing and spatial transcriptomics methods.
Basic Qualifications
This is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.

Basic Qualifications
- BS or equivalent professional experience in genomics, molecular biology, biochemistry, biology or related field (relevant coursework may count towards experience).
- Prior laboratory experience is essential.
- Experience of basic molecular biology techniques such as PCR or nucleic acid purification.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Aptitude for basic coding (for database management)
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
