JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
A world class individual capable of motivating people to embrace our Lean culture while meeting production demands. This candidate must be able to maintain a high focus on Lean and Safety. They will oversee the manufacturing process ensuring that production runs efficiently and meets quality standards.
This position will report directly to the Operations Manager and will supervise individuals throughout the plant. Responsibilities include maintaining the overall productive output of these areas, quality control, meeting scheduled production dates, and motivating the personnel in these departments to produce the best products in our industry.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
The preferred candidates will have:
A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a successful manager with experience in a Lean & Safety conscious manufacturing environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, as they will be working in a team environment that is driven by production deadlines
Additional Experience In The Following-
Production Planning and Scheduling:
Develop production schedules and plans to meet customer demands
Coordinate production workflow for multiple products and shifts
Allocate resources effectively and ensure optimal production output
Leading Meetings (All Employee, Job Review, Purchasing, Production/Scheduling)
Team Management:
Supervise and lead a team of production staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
Foster a positive and safe work environment, enforcing compliance with safety and quality procedures
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for process enhancement to increase efficiency and reduce production costs
Implement lean manufacturing principles or other methodologies to streamline operations
Quality Assurance:
Monitor product standards and implement quality control programs to ensure high-quality output
Address any issues or deviations from quality standards promptly
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate stock of raw materials
Minimize excess inventory while maintaining production requirements
Budgeting and Cost Control:
Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or safety
Tracking and reporting labor variance as well as the ability to solve issues to reduce variance in the future
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments such as engineering, supply chain, human resources, and maintenance to ensure smooth operations
Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for business growth and improvement
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
A degree in Advanced Manufacturing that focused on Lean Manufacturing is a plus
Education and work experience in Engineering preferred
