Job Summary: Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the logistics and delivery service activities. 


This includes ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods, collaborating across delivery teams, working to optimize and create efficiencies across all delivery routes, and meeting customer satisfaction metrics.


The role involves strategic planning, operational management, and effective team leadership to drive the success of Piikup.


Day to Day Responsibilities:


Operations Management:

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end delivery process, from order dispatch to final delivery.
  • Develop, implement, and refine operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor delivery metrics and performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Eventually, ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

Team Leadership:

  • Support owner in organization of performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to improve team performance.
  • Promote a positive work environment, fostering teamwork and collaboration over competition..
  • Address personnel issues promptly and enforce Piikup policies at all times.

Community engagement:

  • Attend community tabling and marking events as needed
  • Visit customer sites to perform audits or implement a new process
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent delivery services.
  • Communicate customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers to understand their needs and expectations.

Fleet Management

  • Analyze and optimize delivery routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement and utilize route planning software and tools to enhance delivery accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor external factors such as traffic patterns and weather conditions that may impact delivery schedules and make necessary adjustments.

Inventory Management:

  • Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure the availability of products for delivery.
  • Manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Implement best practices for inventory control and management.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all delivery operations comply with safety standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety training and audits for delivery personnel.
  • Implement and enforce company policies related to safety and compliance.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Associates degree preferred but experience in the workforce or college may be considered, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience


Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in route planning and optimization software.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry packages up to [40] pounds.
  • Capability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.


Work Environment:

  • Combination of office and field environments.
  • Regular travel to delivery locations and customer sites.
