ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Network Design Engineer requiring a TS/SSBI located in Colorado Springs, CO. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.
Salary Range: $110-170K
Duties And Responsibilities
A Network Design Engineer, also known as lead systems analyst, a network engineer who can also program, or a software engineer who can also manage networks, is an IT professional who oversees the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. These products are often sophisticated systems that run on the web. The systems engineer is responsible to integrate various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices. Duties of a systems engineer typically include managing the development cycle associated with producing a resilient software, hardware and web application, including: specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance. Systems engineering is like putting together a puzzle, matching varied pieces together to make one cohesive whole. Systems engineers are concerned with the "big picture" of a project in addition to technical aspects and must consider details like cost, schedules and social issues that may be associated with a project.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum Certifications: Required: MCTS/MCSA or Linux+ or RHCSA AND VCP
For Junior Level: Must have at least 3+ years of experience in a similar role plus aHigh school Diploma, related military experience, trade/industrial school graduate or GED equivalent.
For Mid-Level Roles: Must have at least 7+ years of experience in a similar role
For Senior Level Roles: Must have 12+ years of progressive experience.

- It is Required to have a TS/SSBI to start, candidates with TS/SBI will also be considered but must be upgraded to SCI.

- Microsoft SQL server architectures including always on clusters
- Cisco UCS server architectures
- Infrastructure as a service
- Platform as a service
- Server and application provisioning through automation
- Multi-tenancy server environments
- Server disaster recovery
- Applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) ESXi 5.x/6, vCenter, vCloud, Horizon View, App Volumes, and ThinApps.
- Desktop (client) hardware including VMs, thin clients, Teradici based zero clients, small form factor PCs and blade workstations
- Windows OS for Desktop Enterprise Versions
- Virtual desktops, storage environments and remote desktop solutions
- Dell 12th and 13th Generation server series installation, GPU integration, advanced disk subsystem and networking configuration
- Server disaster recovery
- Enterprise application thin-app packaging processes, distribution of thin-apps and associated best practices
- Desktop pools, Personal Computer over Internet Protocol (PCoIP) technologies, thin- printing, linked and full clone implementations
- VMware View architecture components (connection server, agent, client, and composer)
- Virtual Storage Area Networking (VSAN) and flash memory based network storage appliances
- Securing virtual machines and disaster recovery planning
- Persona management
- Applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
