The Manager, Healthcare Access coordinates and manages initiatives that support the Healthcare Access Team's strategic goals and priorities. This individual will work closely with colleagues across the Healthcare Access team and with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic priorities are advanced. Additionally, this position will coordinate and socialize the team’s Salesforce work including ensuring the team can measure impact and leading trainings and other bodies of work related to Salesforce.


Essential Functions / Responsibility

Initiative planning, tracking and coordination (50%)

  • Working with team leadership, develop comprehensive project plans that align with the Healthcare Access Team's strategic objectives including but not limited to health equity work and projects, updated McDonald Criteria and diagnostic criteria work, NMAC projects and goals.
  • Coordinate with Senior Directors of Health Equity, Senior Director of Content and Resources and Senior Director of External Stakeholders to ensure project plans include project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines as necessary.
  • Implement tools and systems to track project progress alongside healthcare access colleagues leading the work.
  • Provide project support as needed including but not limited to scheduling meetings, drafting documentation or presentations, managing project timelines, and facilitating communication among team members and external stakeholders.

Salesforce Responsibilities (40%)

Functional Center of Excellence

  • Serve as HCA functional Salesforce lead in the development and maintenance of the healthcare access team’s business processes.
  • Communicate and provide training to the team on new processes, best practices and effective and efficient utilization of Salesforce.
  • Lead the Healthcare Access Functional Center of Excellence
  • Report quarterly metrics used for strategic planning, and team goals for outcomes and outreach.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for the team’s Salesforce use, supporting initiatives across the healthcare access team.
  • Validate, analyze and refine enhancement requests.
  • Support other functional teams’ efforts to align shared processes.

Main Center of Excellence

  • Review and validate enhancement requests from other functional Centers of Excellence
  • Provide insight and recommendations to cross-functional team on how changes affect Healthcare Access
  • Document relevant business and technical considerations.
  • Steward communication and change management processes of deployed enhancements
  • Prioritize requests according to impact, scope, immediacy, and technical complexity.

Cross-functional and Team Responsibilities (10%)

  • Contribute to departmental and functional team meetings; provide support and feedback to colleagues.
  • Utilize matrix management techniques to foster cross-functional relationships and market colleagues.
  • Actively participate in dynamic and adaptable teams, across vertical team structures, to advance work.
  • Support local programs and events and activities throughout the year as needed.
  • Attend conferences and meetings as appropriate.


Minimum Requirements:

  • 4- 6 years of experience developing high level relationships
  • Strong relationship building, communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal, emotional intelligence, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Technical/Other:

  • Commitment to the mission, vision, cultural values, and expectations of the National MS Society
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Society and database systems
  • Availability to work occasional nights and weekends to support events, committee meetings, etc.
  • Understanding and comfort in using Salesforce, including training others, pulling data and reports
  • Adaptable to technology
  • Ability to train others on technology and Salesforce requirements


Compensation & Benefits Info:

Estimated hiring compensation range for this role is $57,000- $68,300 based on our average compensation schedule. Final offers will be based on candidate geographic location and consider career experience and may vary from this range due to these and other factors.
