About The Role:

The Manager of Diner Pricing role is a part of the Revenue Management team within Grubhub’s Growth organization. The Manager will lead a team of analysts to develop, test, evaluate and implement pricing strategies to optimize to business outcomes, while strategically delivering value to customers to build longer term retention. You will be responsible for developing recommendations and driving decisions that have portfolio-wide impacts and influence multiple facets of the business. You will also have the opportunity to design and directly influence the strategic roadmap for Pricing across Finance, Product, Engineering, and Loyalty amongst other functional areas.


The ideal candidate will have not only strong quantitative qualifications, but also an ability to combine data-driven insights with conceptual thinking and a constant business-outcomes orientation, balancing near-term and long-term objectives. This role will require influence and coordination across multiple stakeholder groups at varying levels of the organization up to the executive levels. As such, exceptional communication and ability to synthesize analysis into clear and compelling narratives is a must. The ideal candidate should also have a proven ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, with an ownership mindset. You will need to be able to establish a well-informed long term agenda, drive structured problem solving, while also remaining agile and resilient to new opportunities.


The Impact You Will Make:

  • Design, experiment and execute pricing strategies to continuously optimize diner revenue and deliver on growth and profitability across the portfolio
  • Partner with Logistics, Loyalty, Product and Finance teams to design pricing strategies that align with shared agendas while reaching the organization’s performance targets
  • Deliver regular, executive-level reporting to continuously assess portfolio revenue performance, highlight opportunities, understand competition, and influence senior leaders
  • Facilitate goal tracking to meet the organization’s KPIs
  • Drive integrated thinking, building recommendations for decisions weighing multiple facets of the business while balancing short term goals against the long term roadmap
  • End-to-end process ownership - ability to identify and change the way we work and willingness to move beyond the status-quo
  • Innovate and continuously advance your team’s analytic capabilities and infrastructure to drive actionable consumer insights through reinvention of reporting and monitoring, automation, standardization, and democratization of data
  • Support organization-wide decision-making through strong conceptual problem solving, effectively synthesized into impactful, outcomes-oriented insights
  • Grow and develop a team of strong performing analysts by providing real time feedback and coaching, performance management and goal setting


Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in STEM or other quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Business, Finance, Statistics, Math, Science, etc.)
  • 5+ years experience directly driving pricing decisions and revenue outcomes in a data-driven, multidisciplinary, agile organization
  • 1+ years of direct people management experience
  • Exhibited ability to direct and synthesize complex analysis and data into easily understandable, compelling, and actionable insights
  • Effective even when working in unstructured or uncertain environments; ability to create structure and develop long term agendas to influence other
  • Strong self-management / prioritization and influence capabilities
  • Experience with executive and cross-organizational communication, clearly translating analytical insights into actionable business outcomes
  • Deep experience with test and learn methodologies
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, etc.)
