About The Role:

The Business Strategy and Insights Analyst will support strategic decision making for a cross-functional group of senior leaders and also for Grubhub’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This Analyst will perform quantitative analyses (bridging customer behavior, business performance, and the competitive landscape), collaborate with analytical and business partners across the company, build executive-level presentations, and develop templates and dashboards to enable faster decisioning. The work this Analyst will produce will enable Grubhub’s ELT and other senior leaders to quickly take informed action across business units and at a regional level to allocate resources and make effective investment decisions

The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative qualifications, an ability to combine data-driven insights with conceptual thinking, a sense of curiosity, a customer-centric mindset, and a constant business-outcomes orientation. This role will require influence and coordination across multiple stakeholder groups at varying levels of the organization. As such, exceptional communication and ability to synthesize analysis into clear and compelling narratives is a must, primarily in the form of concise, well-structured slide decks. The ideal candidate should also have a proven ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. You will need to be able to establish a well-informed long term agenda, drive structured problem solving, while also remaining agile and resilient to new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in STEM or other quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Business, Finance, Statistics, Math, Science, etc.)
• 6+ years of experience in a strategic or business analyst role, or 3+ years in a strategy consulting role
• Proven track record of using analytics and qualitative understanding of business drivers to enable and execute decision-making
• Exhibited ability to synthesize complex analysis and data into easily understandable, compelling, and actionable insights for executive-level audiences
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills to effectively influence various functional groups and up to executive levels
• Strong self-management / prioritization and influence capabilitie
• Proficiency with data analysis, visualization, and automation tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, etc.)

• 2+ years of experience in a role in direct support of executive level decision making
• Master’s degree in business, STEM, or other quantitative field
• Prior strategy consulting experience

The Impact You Will Make

• Develop regular reporting for Grubhub’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and other business leaders, focused on providing insights that enable rapid and high quality decision making
• Support organization-wide decision-making utilizing not only quantitative dimensions but also by pairing it with strong conceptual problem solving, effectively synthesized into impactful, outcomes-oriented insights
• Apply sound, data-driven business judgment, weighing multiple factors, to determine and influence prioritization of investments across Grubhub
• Partner with Analytics, Data Science, and Finance teams, amongst others, to analyze drivers of performance, identify growth opportunities, develop shared agendas, and drive meaningful in-market results
• Perform goal tracking to meet the organization’s KPIs
• Innovate and continuously advance your analytic capabilities and infrastructure to drive actionable consumer insights through reinvention of reporting and monitoring, automation, standardization, and democratization of data
