Job Summary
The Junior Research Systems Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting the research computational infrastructure of a vital research group. Responsibilities include managing and maintaining Linux and Windows servers, enterprise data storage, and web servers, all while prioritizing IT security and data integrity.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain Linux and Windows server environments.
Administer enterprise data storage solutions.
Maintain and administer web servers.
Implement and maintain IT security best practices.
Update and maintain storage systems, virtualization systems, SLURM cluster systems, IT support ticketing systems, and operating systems.
Perform system backups and ensure data integrity.
Collaborate with researchers and other IT staff to troubleshoot technical issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must Have
Enterprise virtualization system administration
Linux Server administration
Web server administration
Windows server administration in an Active Directory domain
Nice To Have
Enterprise data storage system administration
Knowledge of cloud computing and storage administration
Knowledge of commodity server class hardware
Knowledge of computing cluster system administration
Knowledge of container system administration
