Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Manager of IT Operations Assurance within the IT Corporate Services team, the IT Operational Assurance Analyst plays a pivotal role in advancing Motiva's IT operations towards optimal compliance with security standards and general controls. This position is instrumental in safeguarding the company's IT systems and information assets through proactive engagement with business units, internal departments, and external entities. By assessing and managing risks associated with IT solutions, the incumbent ensures alignment with Motiva's policies and standards for information risk management.



This position operates on a 9/80 schedule. This means employees work eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day over a two-week period, resulting in one day off every other week. The specific schedule will be provided upon hire.



Responsibilities:

  • Work with application owners to communicate IT General Controls and security policies and standards requirement
  • Review current processes and assess gaps in compliance to controls
  • Liaise with business application owners, IT application owners, Infrastructure, and Security on necessary process changes to comply with policies and standards
  • Recommend and help implement actions to remediate audit issues
  • Perform regular reviews of controls evidenced by application owners to ensure IT operations controls are effective
  • Assist in the standardization of processes across IT organization to achieve a higher level of maturity in compliance and controls
  • Document processes
  • Participate in the implementation and testing of enterprise-wide applications related to controls and compliance
  • Conduct training sessions to mature IT culture on controls and compliance



Experience and Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with internal and external audit representatives and ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with the capability to articulate ideas in both business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing the Microsoft suite of products.
  • Strong teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with information security terminology and technologies
  • Industry-related audit, compliance, information security or business continuity management certification
  • Experience complying with IT General Controls
  • Experience remediating audit findings
