We are seeking a knowledgeable and results-driven International Trade Consultant to join our team on a full-time basis. As an International Trade Consultant, you will provide expert guidance and strategic advice to clients engaged in global trade activities. Your role will involve navigating complex international regulations, optimizing supply chain efficiencies, and facilitating cross-border transactions to support client growth and compliance objectives.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Trade Compliance and Regulatory Advising:
    • Interpret and apply international trade regulations, including customs laws, export controls, tariffs, and sanctions regimes.
    • Advise clients on compliance requirements, licensing, and documentation necessary for importing and exporting goods across borders.
  • Market Entry and Expansion Strategies:
    • Assist clients in developing market entry strategies for new international markets based on market research, risk assessments, and regulatory considerations.
    • Conduct feasibility studies, market analysis, and competitive assessments to identify growth opportunities and market trends.
  • Supply Chain Optimization:
    • Analyze and optimize global supply chain processes to reduce costs, minimize risks, and improve efficiency.
    • Recommend strategies for sourcing, procurement, logistics, and inventory management to enhance supply chain resilience and responsiveness.
  • Customs Valuation and Duty Optimization:
    • Provide guidance on customs valuation methodologies and strategies to minimize duty exposure and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
    • Review and advise on customs documentation, tariff classifications, and trade preference programs (e.g., free trade agreements).
  • Trade Finance and Payment Methods:
    • Advise clients on trade finance options, letters of credit, export credit insurance, and other financial instruments to facilitate international transactions.
    • Assist in mitigating financial risks associated with currency fluctuations, payment terms, and credit management in global trade transactions.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business objectives and providing tailored solutions to meet their international trade needs.
    • Act as a trusted advisor, offering strategic insights, negotiation support, and problem-solving expertise to resolve trade-related challenges.
  • Market Intelligence and Regulatory Updates:
    • Stay informed about global trade policies, economic trends, and geopolitical developments affecting international business operations.
    • Provide timely updates and recommendations to clients on regulatory changes, trade agreements, and market dynamics impacting their business.
