REPORTS TO: Principal and other administrative personnel.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary, benefits, and work year as established in the Teachers’ Contract.
Required Qualifications
Must have a valid Professional Educator License from Illinois State Board of Education. Professional Educator License must be registered in Region 07.
Must have a Master’s Degree in Reading, Math, Curriculum, or other specialty area
Previous coaching or teacher leadership experience
Deep knowledge of and experience in: a) Instructional strategies b) Conditions of Learning c) Assessment driven instruction (teaching/learning process)
Responsibilities Include
Work directly with teachers.
Collaborate with teachers to coordinate and recommend resources for instruction, based on data.
Provide professional development to staff on all matters pertaining to instruction
Serve as a content specialist to assist in the development and implementation of campus instructional plans that align to district goals, standards, and curriculum.
Work with campus administration to design and provide professional development focused on improving alignment and delivery of the written, taught and tested curriculum to increase student success and close performance gaps.
Work with teachers and campus administration to analyze student data, diagnose instructional needs and identify research-based instructional strategies to close achievement gaps.
Provide job-embedded professional development for teachers through modeling engaging, standards-based teaching as needed.
Provide individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners.
Conduct teacher observations and/or walk-throughs and provide formative feedback that facilitates teacher reflection and growth.
