Healthcare IT Business Analyst

Job Description:


We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of business processes. As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements to support the development of innovative solutions that meet the needs of our organization and our clients.


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct thorough analysis of business processes, systems, and data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Lead capability definition and gap analysis sessions to assess current business processes, systems, and resources. Identify gaps and inefficiencies, collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategies and solutions to address identified gaps and achieve business goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize business requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive business requirement documents (BRDs), functional requirement documents (FRDs), and other relevant documentation to articulate business needs and solution specifications.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and project managers, to translate business requirements into technical specifications and project plans.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform feasibility studies, impact analyses, and risk assessments to evaluate proposed solutions and support decision-making processes.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate solution functionality and ensure it meets business requirements.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to stakeholders, including training, documentation, and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve processes and drive innovation within the organization.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance business performance and achieve long-term objectives.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred


Work Experience

  • 5 to 7 years proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably in the health care industry


Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and analyze complex data from multiple sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, such as process modeling, data analysis, and requirements elicitation.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Extensive experience in ambiguous and complex business functions; using data and expertise to facilitate business decision making.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices is a plus.


Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
  • Strong understanding of health care operations and regulations


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, prioritize, and document business requirements. This includes conducting interviews, workshops, and surveys to understand user needs and translate them into clear and actionable requirements.
  • Process Analysis: Analyze existing business processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Develop process maps, flowcharts, and diagrams to visualize current and future state processes.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions. Utilize statistical analysis, data visualization, and reporting tools to present findings to stakeholders.
  • Solution Design: Work closely with stakeholders and technical teams to design innovative solutions that address business needs and align with organizational goals. Develop prototypes, wireframes, and mock-ups to illustrate proposed solutions and gather feedback.
  • Documentation: Create clear and comprehensive documentation, including business requirements documents, functional specifications, user stories, and use cases. Ensure that documentation is thorough, accurate, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Communicate effectively to gather requirements, provide updates, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate project activities, resources, and timelines to ensure successful delivery of project milestones. Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to prioritize tasks, resolve issues, and mitigate risks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and innovation. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and enhance business outcomes.


The hourly pay rate range for this position is $50-$60/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
