The Foundry Technical Director role is a newly created position that will be responsible for sand, metals, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position will oversee a team of 4 people including a metallurgist, foundry engineer, and the lab department.
Responsibilities
Management of the continuous improvement projects throughout the Foundry
Provide vision, direction, and support to foundry staff in meeting safety, quality, productivity, delivery and lean objectives.
Ensure foundry personnel have the tools, training, and environment they need to work safely and efficiently to produce high quality cast parts.
Work closely with sales, engineering, metallurgy, and manufacturing support departments to develop and improve processes and ensure equipment safety and availability in support of Company objectives and customer interests.
Develop department staff for growth into future opportunities.
Qualifications
Engineering degree preferred or 5-10 years of leadership experience within a Gray/Ductile Iron foundry
Technical understanding of the casting process
Strong communications and leadership skills are a must.
Continuous Improvement/Lean/Six Sigma experience is highly desirable.
