Field Recruiter

Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie, a recognized leader in the construction industry is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Field Recruiter to join our team. This role will focus primarily on recruiting craft/trade professionals and building a pipeline of future talent through high school and trade school partnerships. The candidate should expect significant travel across the state of Florida to meet these objectives.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Recruiting Craft/Trade Professionals:
    • Identify and recruit skilled craft/trade professionals to meet the company's staffing needs.
    • Review resumes and screen candidates to ensure they meet the necessary qualifications and experience.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local trade associations and unions.
    • Attend industry-specific job fairs and networking events to source top talent.
  • High School and Trade School Recruitment:
    • Build and maintain partnerships with high schools and trade schools to identify and recruit future talent.
    • Organize and participate in school career fairs and events.
    • Develop programs and initiatives to engage students and provide information about careers in construction.
  • Event Coordination:
    • Plan and execute large hiring events to address multiple staffing needs.
    • Coordinate logistics for hiring events, including location selection, setup, and communication with participants.
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure event success.
  • Candidate Screening and Placement:
    • Work closely with field leadership to place talent on projects that match their skills and experience.
    • Conduct thorough candidate screenings to ensure alignment with project requirements and company standards.
    • Facilitate interviews and manage the candidate selection process.
  • Onboarding Assistance:
    • Support the onboarding process for new hires based on our projects, ensuring a smooth transition into the company. Conduct orientations and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed for large numbers of new hires starting at one time on the same jobsite.
    • Work with Jobsite Assistants (JSAs) to coordinate onboarding for new employees on jobsites.
Qualifications

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

  • Must be fluent in Spanish.
  • Proven experience in recruiting, preferably in the construction industry for skilled trade professionals.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and event planning skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively across the state of Florida.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for developing and mentoring young talent.
  • This role requires heavy travel across the state of Florida.

Preferred Education/ Qualifications/Experience/Skills

  • Experience in recruiting for a general contractor.
  • Background in craft/trade professions or education.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems and recruitment software.
