Job Summary: Love the not-so-spooky side of Halloween? Join our team as a BOO Fest character and enjoy the spookiest job this side of the grave. Show us your warmest smile or wicked talent, and you’ll help bring a whimsical Halloween character to life! This is a seasonal role that staffs our hay mazes, candy trails, and family friendly attractions, and themed zones throughout BOO Fest. This role is for Daytime happy haunts and begins in Early-September and runs through the end of October.
Previous acting experience is not required!
What You Will Be Doing
Interact with children and families inside our family friendly attractions and zones.
Transform into a friendly creature with full makeup and costumes.
Greet and interact with the public at special park functions.
Take on a character role during Boo Fest. Think fairies, sprites, scarecrows, witches, etc.
Remain in character at all times.
Create a family friendly, positive experience for guests of all ages.
Put on and remove make up, masks, costumes, latex, prosthetic, and other costuming materials as necessary.
Operate a small prop.
Listen to direction from attractions leadership.
Other Job Duties As Assigned.
How will you do it:
Maintain a friendly character persona and safety at all times.
Keep escape routes (and work locations) clean.
Be able to work in an environment as fast-paced as our coasters.
Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to the Six Flags mantra.
Be playful and friendly with an outgoing personality.
Have a positive attitude to deliver the best experience possible.
What You Will Need
Must be at least 14 years old.
This role requires an audition.
Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods in varied weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
Must be able to perform in an enclosed costume, having limited sight lines.
Specific height and weight may be required for proper fit in specific costumes.
Have a good attitude, good appearance, and participate as a member of the team.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including daytime hours, weekends, and holidays.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the primary job duties, including standing and talking for long periods of time, crawling and working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50lbs.
Must be able to cooperate well with other staff.
Must be able to comply with Six Flags policy and standards.
Must be able to handle stress.
Must be able to work well with unforeseen circumstances, changes, emergencies, and under pressure while dealing large crowds.
Must be able to trouble shoot problems and identify solutions.
Must have strong work ethics and communication skills.
Must be available for rehearsals/training starting in early September.
Must be able to work in all extreme weather conditions including heat, rain, wind, snow, cold and storms.
