Environmental Health and Safety Technician

We are currently seeking to add an Environmental Health and Safety Technician to our dynamic team in Seattle, Washington.

$30 to $40 hourly in office and field full-time with benefits.

The role is field-intensive and supports a broad range of projects located in Puget Sound Region. These projects reflect PBS’ core practices in hazardous materials, industrial hygiene/health and safety, and indoor air quality.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years' experience in Hazardous Materials, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Health and Safety, or a related field
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift approximately 30 pounds
  • Authorization to work in the US
  • Valid driver's license

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial compliance and/or air quality sampling
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • AHERA Asbestos Inspector certification
  • NIOSH 582 Certified Analyst

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Project oversight for hazardous material abatement projects
  • Hazardous building material surveys
  • Indoor air quality evaluations
  • Exposure monitoring
  • Radon and drinking water testing
  • Report preparation
  • General project administrative duties
