This opportunity as an Engineering Leader is a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership, and business development responsibilities, placing you at the forefront of our organization's success.


Based in the Washington DC area, this role is instrumental in facilitating regular onsite client engagements whilst joining one of North America's leading Digital Building consulting firms.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Project Delivery

  • Lead and oversee consulting engagements to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, consistently surpassing client expectations.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to project teams to uphold the highest quality standards.
  • Engage in hands-on project work as required.


2. Team Development

  • Mentor and cultivate a team of emerging engineers, fostering their professional growth and technical proficiency.
  • Establish training programs and provide ongoing support to drive the team's advancement.
  • Collaborate with HR to strategically expand the team by identifying and filling key positions.


3. Business Development

  • Cultivate and maintain robust client relationships, discerning their evolving needs to ensure enduring satisfaction.
  • Identify fresh business prospects within existing client accounts.
  • Support the sales team in formulating and executing new client initiatives within the region.
  • Collaborate closely with the executive team to formulate and implement regional business development strategies.


4. Technical Expertise

  • Remain current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies within mechanical engineering, Smart Buildings, and related domains pertinent to client engagements.
  • Serve as a technical authority within the organization, offering insights and recommendations for complex engineering challenges.


5. Budget and Resource Management

  • Manage the regional budget, focusing on efficient resource allocation and cost control.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to optimize resource utilization.


Qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with preference given to candidates with a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, with expertise in HVAC systems, Smart Building technologies, facilities operations, and energy savings measures.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully delivering mechanical engineering projects.
  • Exhibit outstanding leadership and team-building skills.
  • Showcase a strong business acumen with a track record of developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Excel in communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, including Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Powerpoint, and others.
  • Must be capable of passing a federal background check and obtaining a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
