The Institute is in an expansion phase - adding new Members from impressive companies each week. We’re looking for an ambitious individual who wants to play an active role in our growth story. The ideal candidate is very comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment where creativity and experimentation help drive development of the organization.


What is the role?

We have an immediate opening for a Director, Member Development responsible for: 


  • Selling All Access Membership Accounts to M&A teams at large private and public companies
  • Defining the sales processes, establishing tactics, developing new business development campaigns, and executing those programs in the market
  • Overseeing the entire demand generation process to attract new leads, qualify and nurture those leads, and ultimately drive the pipeline and close new business every day
  • Serving as the most senior point of contact for inquiries; asking thorough questions and guiding prospects through a needs assessment to qualify them and drive new opportunities
  • Clearly measuring KPIs and articulating what’s working and what’s not, proactively adjusting strategy as you learn
  • Overseeing two existing sales support roles (CRM/database manager and sales analyst)
  • Identifying, bringing on, and managing vendors, contractors, and other support as needed to help scale your thinking and vision
  • Working with your team to identify and capitalize on emerging market trends, themes, and opportunities for

growth.

What skills and experience is required?

We’re an entrepreneurial group, looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Other key qualities for this role include:  

  • Exceptional communication skills across mediums
  • Enthusiasm to build and maintain relationships
  • Ability to identify the needs and challenges of prospective members
  • Strong time management and organization skills that ensure attention to detail
  • Desire to collaborate with a cross-functional team spanning marketing and program management
  • Ability to work methodically with high volumes of data on target companies and executives
  • Familiarity with CRM, sales engagement, social media, and database screening
  • Ability to think creatively in developing messaging and outreach strategies
  • Comfortable working in a metrics-driven environment with weekly goals


What are the requirements for the position?

  • Professional experience with a record of achievement
  • Experience in executive education, B2B information services, or a similar role 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or a related field


Where will I work?

This full time role is based in our Chicago office, located in the historic Reid-Murdoch building on the Chicago River.
