Position Summary

The position is responsible for building, maintaining and directing, with the Vice President, Federal Affairs, all activities related to American Chemistry Council's (ACC) Political Action Committee (PAC), including growing the program and soliciting contributors. The position is also responsible for scheduling, planning and executing fundraisers and receptions with members of Congress and/or candidates. The position reports directly to the Vice President, Federal Affairs.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

■ Manages the day-to-day operations of the PAC, including websites, databases, and communications/outreach efforts and regularly works with PAC consultant firm.

■ Identifies and writes applicable communiques to targeted audiences regarding PAC activities, solicitations, and events.

■ Develops and implements the PAC budget and ACC’s political giving with Federal Affairs team; serves as liaison to the PAC Board.

■ Manages the execution of fundraisers both in Washington, DC and in local states/districts in coordination with ACC member company representatives and political mobilization staffTracks and provides analysis of federal House of Representatives and Senate races.

■ Manages PAC financial records and reports in coordination with applicable banking institution.

■ Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required

■ Bachelor's degree in political science or related field.

■ Eight years' fundraising or relevant experience.

■ Working knowledge of Federal Election Commission campaign laws.

■ Highly effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at highest corporate and political levels.

■ Ability to advocate on behalf of organization, including being influential and persuasive and at times aggressive to build and maintain strong relationships, and demonstrated ability to foster effective relationships and networks with others.

■ Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with competing priorities and exercise sound judgment in evaluating such situations and issues.

■ Ability to demonstrate creativity, take initiative, and be flexible

■ Ability to provide strategic counseling, develop plans and execute supporting tactics.

■ Ability to demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills, and political acumen.

■ Proven ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred

■ Demonstrated leadership among peers in either coalition building or PAC management.

■ Experience working in a government relations or trade association environment.
