Honeycomb has driven nearly $30 million of investments to more than 400 businesses across the United States. We are creating a new strategic finance role to support our growing organization. As the Director of Strategic Finance you will be a key member of the leadership team, working side-by-side with the CEO to manage the organization's finances while refining and implementing the company’s strategic plan. You will work with key stakeholders - ranging from the Honeycomb leadership team to the Board of Directors to Honeycomb institutional capital partners - to keep all parties up to speed on our progress and aligned on the strategic vision of the company.
As Honeycomb’s Strategic Finance Director, you will:
Lead the development and execution of the company's financial strategy, including long-range planning, forecasting, and budgeting
Oversee the FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis, and insights
Lead quarterly and annual forecasting cycles and financial planning and work with senior leadership to develop Objectives and Key Results
Own all accounting and finance function and relationships including managing external bookkeeping and accounting resources
Develop and maintain, and present accurate and timely financial reporting dashboards and metrics for the leadership team, the Board of Directors, investors, and other stakeholders
Manage payroll, human resources, and compliance
Develop guardrails for budget spend, implement spending control processes, and advise on annual planning target for revenue and expenses
Work closely with Honeycomb’s capital strategies team, our external institutional capital providers, and prospective capital partners to expand the capital available for investment on the Honeycomb platform
Help define the asset class of small business investments and support in developing educational and promotional materials for both retail and institutional investors
Partner with CEO and leadership to translate strategic objectives into financial models and KPIs
Support with future fundraising including building and managing a data room, preparing for and participating in investor meetings, and supporting due diligence
We are seeking candidates with:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
7-10+ years of progressive finance and FP&A experience, preferably in a high-growth technology company
Strong strategic thinking capabilities with a view towards accelerating Honeycomb’s growth
Exceptional financial modeling, forecasting and reporting skills
Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and the ability to summarize complex information in PowerPoint or Slides
Experience with capital markets generally and alternative investment assets specifically is a plus
