PositionSummary:
The Director of Events & Member Services directs all membership and event services, including planning, organizing, and leading PTAA events from conception through completion, as well as overseeing the membership database, onboarding process, and associated functions.
EssentialFunctions
You're applying for this role because you know how to budget, plan, and execute events of all sizes (<40 people to 500+). Our members want to do more, and you're here to help guide them to the events that fit their needs.
You're also applying because you love people. You'll serve and assist other staff as a liaison for multiple member-led committees. You'll do this by helping them achieve their goals, attending monthly meetings, and working with them on committee-specific events.
Knowing what to say and whom to say it to is a must-have for this role. You'll collaborate with the PTAA staff on marketing pieces, communications campaigns, and member engagement.
You'll also work closely with PTAA staff to develop and sell sponsorships for all PTAA activities, including annual sponsorships,

Identifying and negotiating with vendors? Not a problem. You can make a deal while meeting our events' financial requirements and objectives. That includes catering, photographers, entertainment, and whatever else is required.
Being a people person extends to day-of for events. You'll manage all activities and events logistics, including volunteer recruitment/organization, venue preparation, registrations, event run of show, and more.
You are contributing to updating and maintaining the PTAA member database, including reviewing and approving new member signups and updating member information.
You'll assist in market research by engaging with our members and visiting them on site across the Piedmont Triad Region.
You are engaging in ongoing outreach with membership to ensure member data accuracy.
Researching and keeping current on new ideas for events/venues/foods and the latest trends in event planning and related areas.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven track record of planning and executing successful events
Must be able to work occasional evenings and very rare weekend
The ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work successfully in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to client service is required
Requires regular travel by car to sites outside of the office
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Trade Association and Multifamily Industry experience preferred
Technology, including a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong organizational and project management skills and attention to detail required
Excellent attention to detail while hitting deadlines
Excellent written, oral, and visual communication and presentation skills
Strong relationship management skills in working with multiple internal and external stakeholders
Other Responsibilities
Manage member relationships by attending scheduled events
Assist all team members in any event management tasks
Attend occasional after-hour events
Work Conditions & Physical Demands
Requires walking, bending, kneeling, or some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) at company events
Requires frequent computer use for extended viewing of a computer screen and repetitive use of a keyboard and some phone activity
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
