Travel: Willing and able to travel 50% and at times up to 75% as needed to excel in the role

Compensation: $150,000 - $170,000 base, highly competitive commission, equity

The Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Business Development with a proven track record in health systems and payer network programs. The successful candidate will lead our efforts to identify, pursue, and secure opportunities for DocGo’s healthcare services within our payer partnership programs, driving revenue growth and expanding our footprint in this sector.


Core Responsibilities:

Revenue Generation and Forecasting:

  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within large Hospital and Health Systems.
  • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipelines, tracking progress against targets and objectives.

Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for growth across our medical transport and mobile health offerings.
  • Stay abreast of changes in government policies, regulations, and initiatives impacting the healthcare landscape.

Strategic Business Development Planning:

  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan focused on hospital systems, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Identify key stakeholders and decision-makers within Health Systems and establish relationships to position the company for success.
  • Identify and develop relationships with potential partners to pursue additional business opportunities, including identifying prime contractors who would benefit from subcontracting services to DocGo.

Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers within the largest hospital and health systems, as well as building and maintaining a thriving partner ecosystem, serving as the primary point of contact for all business development activities in the hospital system space for DocGo.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of business development efforts with client needs and expectations.

Proposal Development and Contract Negotiation:

  • Lead the development of compelling proposals, presentations, and bids in response to requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions, working closely with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Public Policy, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or related roles within the healthcare industry, with a focus on large hospital systems.
  • Deep understanding of funding models, budgets, procurement policies, and regulations, with a strong network of contacts within relevant health systems.
  • Demonstrated success in closing complex multi-year business opportunities with large Hospital and Health Systems.
  • Experience in bid and proposal efforts for contracts (RFPs).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities, with a track record of driving revenue growth and achieving business objectives.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve high levels of performance and success.
  • Willing and able to travel 50% and at times up 75% as needed to excel in the role.
