Job Description

This role requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices, who can drive innovation, ensure quality, and lead a team to achieve exceptional results. You will enjoy leading and mentoring other mechanical engineers but are also looking for an opportunity that allows you to stay hands-on in design and development.

POSITION LOCATION:

This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with all work performed in Meriden, CT OR North Olmsted, OH.

Responsibliities

  • Lead the multisite Mechanical Engineering team throughout product development spanning multiple product categories including electro-mechanical systems, consumer electronics, cosmetic finishes, actuator and sensor integrations, and overall system design.

  • Participate in recruiting and retention.
  • Demonstrate proactive collaboration with adjacent development teams to ensure design success.
  • Seek opportunities to collaborate with engineering teams to work through complex technical challenges and drive innovation.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 10-15 years of proven Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • 5-8 years leading a team.
  • Specific experience designing consumer electronic products.
  • Fluency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools and FEA software.
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing and tooling techniques/capabilities (CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, powder metallurgy, and die casting).
  • Direct experience with plastics, die casting, sheet metal, and machining suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembles in consumer or medical devices a plus.
  • Familiarity with electrical test and measurement tools a plus.
  • Experience in interactions with vendors (part suppliers and contract manufacturers) is a plus.
