A Top Am Law firm is seeking a Director of Knowledge and Practice Innovation to lead their Knowledge and Innovation efforts, enhancing efficiency and the attorney experience across all practices and departments. This position is ideal for a dynamic leader who can drive innovation and efficiency across the firm's practices and departments, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and client service. This role can be based in San Francisco, Santa Monica, Silicon Valley, Seattle, NYC, or D.C. Key Responsibilities: Lead firm-wide practice technologies with Practice Group Leaders, COO, and Senior Director of Practice Management. Provide technology guidance and develop best practices for practice group technologies. Create and implement practice innovation strategies for each practice group. Support strategic objectives with innovative technology solutions. Lead Innovation Attorneys and department managers to enhance practice group and attorney experiences. Participate in committees related to practice technology, training, communications, and support. Manage the Knowledge & Innovation team in automating processes and building knowledge-sharing systems. Recommend and initiate improvements in knowledge and innovation areas. Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and client service. Collaborate on legal substantive training with the Legal Personnel and Training department. Oversee vendor contract negotiations within the department. Stay current with trends in knowledge management, legal technology, and law firm business. Qualifications: 8-10+ years of experience in knowledge management, operations, process improvement, marketing operations, legal practice, or legal operations in a law firm or corporate setting. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees (MLIS, MBA, JD) preferred. Strong operational experience and understanding of technology and business process improvement. Excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills. Ability to empathize with and engage attorneys, focusing on business perspectives. Proven project management, critical thinking, and change management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint. Advanced knowledge of technology systems and applications used in law firms and legal departments.
