DevOps And Middleware Senior Support Analyst

They will be migrating more so to the AWS cloud as time goes on so it is a cloud / infra support role.

5+ years’ experience in Cloud Based Information Technology and Infrastructure support.

Minimum of 5-8 years Production Operations experience providing project, design build and operate support for one or more Cloud/Middleware technologies.

Middleware Or Jboss experience is very important, as well as EKS clusters.

DevOps and Middleware Senior Analyst is responsible for providing technical for a team of Middleware and DevOps Analysts to build and operate resilient and robust application infrastructure solutions in both AWS Cloud and On-Premises environments. The successful candidate must uphold strong risk mitigation and change management culture within the team. All solutions must meet deployment readiness policy, availability, and configuration standards along with business requirements. This position will be a facilitator for change for programs targeting process automation, Kubernetes, and DevOps. They will also drive innovation for new tools, products, design patterns, etc. to keep up with the ever-changing technology marketplace. The Senior Analyst will interface with business and technology partners to ensure open communication between teams and that we are aligned on business goals. Typically, 5-7 years of technology and cloud experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with Enterprise Architecture and Application Development Teams to operationalize business critical applications as they are being built and deployed in our hybrid cloud environment.
• Technical resource for ongoing cloud migration and infrastructure automations initiatives through Terraform.
• Keep the applications that support the business up and running as per service level agreements with frequent patches and upgrades to mitigate all the security vulnerabilities.
• Perform scheduled and emergency changes to applications per change control procedures.
• Perform maintenance as required to support application availability requirements.
• Develop and support new and existing environments through the entire life cycle which also includes upgrades and migration.
• Configure high availability and Disaster Recovery for critical business applications.
• Mentor and cross train other Middleware/Devops Engineers and Developers to ensure consistency in our procedures to provide a stable and secure environment.
• Document Processes, Procedures and Solutions.
• Work with other Teams (Network, Database, Security and Application Development) to resolve issues.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Support and Coordinate releases and participate in 24X7 on call rotation
  
  

Requirements And Skills

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work with geographically distributed teams and resources.
• Highly developed problem-solving skills, troubleshooting & diags in a CI/CD and critical production infrastructure.
• Proficiency configuring and managing applications for fail over and high availability.
• Experience with Cloud (AWS). EC2, EKS, VPC, Subnets, Route 53, AMIs, Auto Scaling, EBS, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, as well as deploying Lambda and AWS Managed Services
• Experience with automation using Ansible, Terraform and cloud formation.
• Experience with Subversion, Nexus, Kubernetes, Solarwinds, Datadog, ELK Stack, Packers, Terraform, Dynatrace
• Proficient in configuring CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins/Nexus/Veracode
• Experience with Kubernetes in any of the following platforms (AWS-EKS OpenShift, Pivotal, OpenSource K8s)
• Proficiency with Applications networking with TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP in cloud and on-prem environments
• Understanding of databases and query structure (RDS, DocumentDB, Redis)
• Working level proficiency with both Linux and Windows Operating Systems (RHEL7, Windows 2008 - 2016)
• Advanced scripting for deployment automation using (PowerShell, Ansible, Shell scripting, CloudFormation)
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills to find issues with the CI/CD Pipelines and Flows
• Familiarity with Disaster Recovery and High availability methods
• Solid understanding of common API platforms and working knowledge of REST + JSON + YAML)
  
  

Education/Experience/Degree Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in Cloud Based Information Technology and Infrastructure support.
• Minimum of 5-8 years Production Operations experience providing project, design build and operate support for one or more Cloud/Middleware technologies.

• BA/BS degree (Computer Science degree preferred but not required)
• Experience building, maintaining, and administering container orchestration infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines in the Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Preferred certification - AWS Solutions Architect, Linux Sysadmin, Kubernetes, Related
• Demonstrated ability to scale applications in AWS, building HA and DR cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Experience with Micro-services Architecture with Springboot is a plus.
