A nationally recognized organization in the end-to-end development, construction, integration, financing, and installation of solar and energy storage systems is seeking a Corporate Legal Counsel to join their team. The ideal candidate attorney who possesses direct expertise in drafting and negotiating agreements related to EPC, O&M, master services, project finance (tax equity & debt), asset management, and other correlated matters.
Responsibilities:
Serve as lead counsel for legal transactions involving solar project development, procurement, construction, and ongoing operations.
Collaborate closely with internal teams on acquisition, development, construction, equipment procurement, operations and maintenance, asset management, and project financing (i.e., tax equity and debt).
Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements such as EPC, master service agreements, procurement contracts, O&M agreements, asset management agreements, construction contracts, and other pertinent transactional documents.
Provide comprehensive legal support to our construction, asset management, engineering, and development teams.
Contribute significantly to our in-house legal department’s overall objectives.
Directly engage with external parties including major equipment suppliers, contractors, EPC providers, and subcontractors.
Oversee and coordinate external legal counsel as needed.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
2-3 years of focused experience in EPC, procurement, or asset management within the solar energy sector; familiarity with storage projects is advantageous.
Prior experience in either a corporate legal department or law firm setting.
Strong proficiency in EPC and procurement contracting principles.
Ability to collaborate effectively across various internal teams.
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
