Your Opportunity

Enhance material utilization and support company production goals through the daily implementation and continuous improvement of CNC machine programs.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Generate/Write daily programs for CNC production equipment (lasers, punches, press brakes, tube bending, and forming cells).
  • Analyze material utilization and make improvements to the CNC programming to achieve desired improvements.
  • Use Enterprise Resource Planning systems to review and adjust for changes in parts requirements.
  • Make recommendations on raw material inventory levels based on the production schedule and anticipated material utilization.
  • Adjust existing programs to accommodate product redesigns or production changes.
  • Oversee the transition from design into production, including any necessary testing and training required for implementing new or changed designs
  • Oversee the prototyping and testing of new designs, including the interpretation of test results. May be required to set up and run test equipment
  • Conduct and/or review the testing of new designs. May interface with agencies associated with certifying products (AMCA, UL, etc.)
  • Provide technical consultation internally to sales and marketing personnel and externally to customers
  • Maintain close contact with the shop floor. Listen to the problems and ideas. Prioritize and pursue the most important concerns. Responsible for resolving any and all issues as they arise
  • Participate in value engineering projects to continually improve the cost efficiency of design and manufacturing processes
  • Review/evaluate returned goods and determine root cause of failures and disposition of materials
  • Run daily batch of CAD and press programs resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Able to manually nest parts as needed resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Understand and able to perform basic scheduling functions.
  • Track and evaluate material utilization opportunities within fabrication area.
  • Capable of achieving full understanding of equipment operating systems
  • Perform remote nesting as needed. Will require learning multiple nesting platforms.
  • Determines sequence of operations within a program for continuous improvement in efficiency

What You Should Have

  • Work requires extensive technical or specialized training such as that which would be acquired in the first two or three years of college or technical school.
  • Between 0-12 months’ related work experience.
  • Experience with one or more nesting and instructional equipment software such as Majestic Trunest, Radan Radbend, Salvagnini equipment software.
  • Operation experience with fabrication equipment – laser, brake press, turret punch press, etc. is a plus.
  • Experience with inventory management transactions within any ERP system such as SAP is a plus.
  • Basic AutoCAD knowledge
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • RADBend experience or Pressbrake programming experience
  • Automated equipment experience
