Essential Functions
Acts as a liaison between patients, physicians, physician assistants, RNs, and employees
Responsible for maintaining clinic flow in all areas of the clinic to include the directing of physicians to their next patient, having pertinent data available and ready for review
Responsible for preparing patients for visits with the providers. Duties include but are not limited to, rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vitals, preparing supplies for wound care, dressing changes, reviewing intake paperwork, pulling up radiology images, prepping injection materials, and accurately entering data into the EMR system.
Able to review patient records and database to determine health status and is able to identify normal and abnormal findings on history, physical and exam
After evaluation of the patient, is able to provide a thorough presentation of pertinent data both subjective and objective to the attending physician
Assists in cast and soft goods application as well as the removal of casts, staples, and sutures
Maintains the inventory of medical supplies and proper maintenance of medical equipment
Able to communicate effectively the intended treatment plan with written and verbal instruction to ensure patient comprehension and compliance
Scans clinical documents into the EMR system.
Prints schedules on the morning of the date of service.
Ensures patient receives education regarding medical treatment and therapies as indicated by the provider.
Creates and promotes a positive patient experience.
EDUCATION
High school diploma/GED required
Bachelor’s degree in athletic training as well as a valid state license or certification preferred
CMA/RMA certification preferred
Proven education or experience will be requested.
Experience
2 years of Athletic Trainer or Medical Assistant experience in a clinic setting preferred
New/upcoming graduate in Athletic Training preferred
