Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Manufacturing

Location: Greater Pittsburgh, PA

Department: Finance


Position Overview:


The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a critical role in the overall management of the company, leading the financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the manufacturing sector, providing strategic financial leadership to drive business performance and operational efficiency. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and other senior executives to shape the company’s financial future and ensure its long-term profitability and growth.


Key Responsibilities:


Financial Strategy and Leadership:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
  • Provide leadership in the development of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning, identifying opportunities for growth and risk mitigation.


Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to provide insights and recommendations to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against goals, benchmarks, and key performance indicators (KPIs).


Operational Efficiency and Cost Management:

  • Lead initiatives to improve financial efficiency and cost control across the manufacturing operations.
  • Work with operational leaders to optimize production processes and reduce waste.
  • Develop and manage capital expenditure plans to support business growth and operational improvements.


Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Ensure robust internal controls and financial procedures are in place to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the company’s risk management policies and procedures, including financial, operational, and market risks.


Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and investors.


Mergers and Acquisitions:

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead financial due diligence and integration processes for acquisitions and other strategic investments.


Qualifications:


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA or CFA certification is highly desirable.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of senior financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO or equivalent role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record of financial leadership and success in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, costing, and financial dynamics.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
