NLCMHA is seeking a Chief Clinical Officer (CCO). The CCO is responsible for clinical program design and implementation and provides executive leadership and oversight of all clinical programs, including supervision of core clinical staff. The CCO will work in tandem with the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The CCO ensures standards of care are met by utilizing evidence-based practices to achieve targeted clinical outcomes. The CCO plans for and secures service expansion opportunities to achieve the organization's mission and goals.
Essential Position Functions
The Chief Clinical Officer has the personality that is a combination of the analytical conscientious style and the creative/inspiring style.
As a member of the executive leadership team, plays a key role in the development, strategic planning, service delivery, and management of the organization.
Provides administrative and clinical leadership to program directors to support and develop the provision of services.
Collaborates with the Medical Director to create evidence-based clinical pathways within the scope of community health services.
Supervises clinical directors.
Evaluates the needs for staffing capacity and recruitment to meet program fidelity and MDHHS network adequacy requirements.
Develops training expectations for clinical staff in coordination with the Training Specialist.
Collaborates with the Chief Quality Officer in development of key clinical performance measures and program outcome measures.
Collaborates with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure clinical operations conform with the Regulatory Compliance Plan, CARF accreditation standards, and MDHHS contract requirements.
Assists with the regular review and update of organization-wide and clinical program-specific policies and procedures.
Represents the organization on the Clinical Director Committees of the Northern Michigan Regional Entity, or others as assigned.
Identifies and develops relationships with external organizations, providers, and community groups to achieve organization mission and goals.
Participates in annual budget development and adheres to budgetary limitations.
Authorizes clinical expenditures per policy and procedure.
Serves on the risk management committee and facilitates root cause analyses of sentinel events.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Cheif Executive Officer (CEO).

Minimum Education & Experience
Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field from an accredited university
Minimum of five (5) years' clinical experience in a mental illness related field working with individuals with a developmental disability
Minimum of three (3) years' supervisory experience
Other Requirements
Knowledge of business management, Medicaid and CARF accreditation standards.
An effective leader who can successfully lead the team, work with other agencies, and the public.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Have own phone for communication and reliable access to messages.
Have reliable transportation in carrying out agency duties.
Possess a valid Michigan driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to work within the guidelines of the code of conduct, regulatory compliance plan and personnel policies.
Supports a philosophy of service delivery that is recovery-based, person centered and culturally competent.
Adhere to applicable policies and procedures as required by MDHHS and other pertinent regulatory agencies.
Proficient with Microsoft Windows and the Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel; able to maneuver on the Internet to conduct research or obtain information, including EHR and Video Conferencing.
