Growing general contractor who pride themselves on their commitment to excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction. As they embark on our their phase of growth, they are seeking a visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the leadership team and help them scale from a small to a mid-sized company.

Job Summary: The CFO will be responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the company in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and current laws and regulations. This strategic leader will manage a team, oversee financial planning, reporting, and control processes, and drive the financial growth of the company. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the construction industry, a strong understanding in implementing and ERP system, and a CPA or MBA qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Financial Leadership:

    • Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
    • Provide leadership in the development of continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
    • Advise the CEO and other key members of senior management on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, and policy matters.
  2. Financial Management:

    • Oversee the preparation and approval of all financial reporting materials and metrics for the board of directors and executive team.
    • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
    • Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally.
  3. ERP Implementation and Management:

    • Lead the implementation of ERP systems to streamline operations and improve financial reporting.
    • Ensure ERP systems are optimized and aligned with the company's financial goals.
  4. Team Leadership:

    • Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Provide guidance on financial decision-making by providing accurate financial information and performance analysis.
  5. Risk Management:

    • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans.
    • Develop financial and tax strategies.
    • Manage the capital request and budgeting processes.
    • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.
  6. Construction Industry Expertise:

    • Utilize knowledge of the construction industry to manage financial operations effectively.
    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
    • Provide insights and recommendations on project financing, cost management, and profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in the construction industry.
  • ERP Systems: Proven experience in implementing and managing ERP systems.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, strategic planning, and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Certifications: CPA, or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is highly desirable.
