The Carrier Compliance Director will oversee the compliance, vetting, and ongoing monitoring of carriers and transportation vendors, ensuring adherence to industry standards and company policies. With 8-10 years of experience, the candidate will lead the carrier compliance team, develop and enhance current processes, and create strategic plans to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the carrier compliance team
  • Develop and implement SOPs to improve carrier compliance, identify risks and ensure efficiency during carrier onboarding.
  • Oversee and enforce carrier and transportation vendor vetting processes.
  • Communicate decisions regarding carrier onboarding to Armstrong’s Agent base in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Maintain an eye on emerging issues related to theft, double brokering, and fraud in the transportation industry and understand how to effectively communicate those issues to employees, agents, and customers. Support new product launches and special projects related to developing technology in the industry.
  • Monitor compliance data and identify improvement areas.
  • Manage, resolve claims, and prevent the escalation of issues made by carriers or other third parties.
  • Assist the legal department with feedback related to third-party claims involving carriers or transportation providers, as needed.
  • Maintain relationships and respond to communications with carriers, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management.
  • Train and mentor the carrier compliance team on emerging issues and maintain an open dialogue with them at all times.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years in transportation, compliance, and supply chain management.
  • Experience with new onboarding technologies, product launches and special projects
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Strategic planning and continuous improvement focus.
  • Knowledge of carrier and vendor compliance requirements.
  • Understand the importance of carrier onboarding and know how to use multiple technology platforms to accomplish the same.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable in conflict.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proficiency with compliance management software is a plus.
