JOB SUMMARY:The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for planning and directing the delivery of primary heath care and health education programs in association with Methodist Healthcare Primary Care Associates (MHPCA). The incumbent will provide care and health education for patients and their family. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in The Methodist Mission, Vision and Values.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:
Proficiency in applying advanced concepts, principles, and professional techniques in a specialized field of nursing. Such proficiency is acquired through completion of a master's degree or higher in a nursing specialty and is demonstrated through national specialty certification as a nurse practitioner.
Registered Nurse with a current license to practice professional nursing in the state of employment.
Advanced practice licensure / certification as required by the state of employment.
3-5 Years Experience; Cardiology experience preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in the assigned center according to approved protocol and acceptable standards.
Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to written, approved protocols developed with and under the supervision of the Medical Director/collaborating Physician. Participates in the design and revision of protocols.
Collaborates with physicians and ancillary personnel as appropriate to promote quality care for patients. Make referrals as appropriate.
Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care.
Understands, applies and supports practice policies, procedures, goals and standards.
Develops strong partnership with patients, family members, fellow physicians/nurses and support staff. Focuses on high patient and family satisfaction and retention.
