Business Development Manager - International Freight

We are currently seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our Los Angeles team and lead our international freight sales efforts.


Position Overview: The Business Development Manager - International Freight will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities in the international freight sector. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of global logistics, excellent sales acumen, and the ability to build strong relationships with clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence in the international freight sector.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through effective prospecting, networking, and relationship building with potential clients.
  • Understand client needs and provide customized international freight solutions that meet their logistics requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, pricing, and customer service, to ensure the successful execution and delivery of international freight services.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to inform sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals, contracts, and pricing negotiations to clients, ensuring alignment with company objectives and profitability targets.
  • Provide regular updates and detailed reports to senior management on sales performance, market trends, and business development activities.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in business development roles within the logistics industry, with a specific focus on international freight.
  • In-depth understanding of global logistics operations, including air, ocean, and ground transportation, as well as customs regulations and compliance.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to close deals and achieve revenue targets.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in both independent and collaborative settings within a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple projects and priorities.
