The role of the Battleground States Political Director is essential for the success of the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign’s states political program. This position involves managing the regional political and coalition desks (Northeast, South, Midwest, and West), overseeing various operational processes, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and dynamic team environment.

The Director will oversee coordination with state and HQ leadership to support in-state events with principals and surrogates, launch local coalition efforts, and most importantly help drive state and local political priorities to mobilize a critical coalition of leaders in states to enthusiastically re-elect President Biden and Vice President Harris.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Battleground Regional Political & Coalitions Directors, who support and facilitate the communication between state political teams and campaign headquarters (HQ)
  • Serve as strategist and consultant in strategic meetings focused on engaging political and coalition teams across a subset of states
  • Lead collaboration across Political & Coalitions, Trips, Surrogates, Policy, Communications, and Digital, and as well other HQ teams to manage and communicate big picture political strategy in states, execute state events, or other initiatives within key communities
  • Synthesize cross-region and state insights to develop recommendations for the states and HQ teams for in state coalition programming, trip proposals, and for event lists
  • Direct and manage state Political & Coalitions Directors to plan and implement priorities across regions
