The Assistant DC Manager coordinates with the DC Manager the overall management of inventory, shipping and transport of goods at the distribution facility. The position is responsible for maintaining stock levels, ensuring processes are followed, and for quality control prior to shipment. Excellent customer service and quality are a priority for BFG Supply.
Compensation Range: $55-75k exempt salary based on experience.
Travel: None
Location:Harrisonburg, VA. M-F with variable hours depending on business need.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Operations:
Ensure branch compliance with all company policies and procedures and that all daily, weekly, and monthly operational tasks are completed.
Assist in the oversight and performance of all warehouse functions including receiving, put away, picking, shipping, small box packing and processing, etc.
Track and monitor data to identify the greatest areas for improvement and put together a project plan to improve the area.
Ensure the safekeeping of company assets, including structures, equipment, inventory, and cash.
Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations including Department of Transportation and OSHA.
Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained.
Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required.
Inventory Management
Ensure timely and accurate receipt of P.O.s and shipping of orders.
Ensure 100% inventory accuracy at all times.
Ensure timely, accurate and complete transfer of stock.
Assist in scheduling labor to meet service goals and customer expectations.
Monitor safety requirements / training.
Education & Qualifications
What you will need to succeed:
Associate Degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration from an accredited two -year college or university preferred.
Competencies
Strong written and verbal communications required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Minimum 2 yeas’ experience in distribution, warehouse, or inventory management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and to work under pressure.
