Volunteer Experience

  • Junior Achievement USA Graphic

    Volunteer training

    Junior Achievement USA

    - Present 10 years 5 months

    Education

I had the opportunity to volunteer at Junior Achievement's Discovery Center in Atlanta, and was fascinated by their ability to bring in a new set of 20+ volunteers each morning, and quickly prepare them to guide middle-school students through a financial day-in-life simulation. I have since worked with a volunteer coordinator to make their training even more brief and effective. And I continue to drop in when I can to work with another day's students at their BizTown or Finance Park.

  • Financial Secretary

    Knights of Columbus, Council 8081

    - Present 5 years 2 months

    Social Services

Managing the $50,000+ budget, income and expenses for our local Council. Previously managed the annual $14k+ fundraiser for the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA and our KofC Council charities. Ordered and tracked the inventory; organized volunteers from the Council for eight shifts each weekend and trained them to use Square for credit card payments; accounted for the cash and checks each weekend; and served customers at the counter.
