Many thanks to XNode 创极无限 team. Having successfully worked with more than 20 global leaders of the pharmaceutical industry in almost 60 countries, #SemanticHub is now entering the segment of biotech and medtech startups and scaleups, to support them during their #growth and #expansion. We are happy to bring our #HybridIntelligence, the power of AI our technology and our expertise, to those future global leaders. We are still new to this segment (though some of our SME partners have already successfully used the results of our projects in their due diligence and to secure funding ;-) ). So it's always valuable to talk to #biotech and #medtech teams, as well as #vc in #LifeSciences, across the globe, to deep dive into their priorities. #patientvoice #patientperspective #duediligence #funding #NLP #AI

【This article is an English translation of yesterday's conference report】 Summary of the 2024 Spring Conference of the Japan Association for Medical Informatics on June 15 The 2024 Spring Conference of the Japan Association for Medical Informatics concluded today, June 15. This year’s theme was "Connecting Information: From Genomics to Society." Judging by the social media activity, it seems the event was a great success once again. Excellent! Given the flow from last autumn’s conference, I anticipated that the focus this spring would be on "The Utilization and Challenges of Generative AI." While many sessions indeed addressed this topic, the conference's major theme emerged during the first day’s "emergency session" titled "The Impact of Establishing Medical DX Promotion Systems and Clinical Record Management System Additions." One particularly surprising session was led by Dr. Nakashima from Kyushu University, who provided detailed explanations on topics such as the establishment of medical DX promotion systems, revisions of medical information and system infrastructure enhancement fees, revisions of lifestyle disease management fees, and clinical record management system fees. It became evident that the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, in tandem with the Digital Agency’s My Portal initiative, is firmly committed to realizing the National Medical Information Platform Concept by 2030. This drive is strongly supported by the government, with Prime Minister Kishida himself serving as the head of the Medical DX Promotion Headquarters. The budget for medical DX is projected to exceed several 10 billion yen annually, heralding a significant digital transformation in the medical field over the next five years. For someone like me, with a background in financial IT, it truly excites me. Incidentally. As a consultant to pharmaceutical companies, I found Dr. Torikai from Gunma University’s explanation of drug traceability in hospitals using "2 documents and 6 pieces of information" particularly interesting. This session helped clarify the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's buzzword "family pharmacist." It also set the stage for our upcoming joint research on the implementation of AI-driven dispensing audit functions, scheduled to start next month. Furthermore, Dr. Torikai and President Jay Nakashima’s presentations on the organic integration of EHR and PHR highlighted a shift from mere digitization to true digital transformation. Although this discussion is still in its infancy, I look forward to more insights at the next conference in Fukuoka. Throughout this transformative period, I am re-evaluating my role as a medical information technologist, health information manager, medical system auditor assistant, PMP, and CCBA. I am committed to advancing from tomorrow onwards. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all conference participants for an excellent event!

Yesterday at Google Cloud Summit Taipei: In the afternoon sessions of the Healthcare Transformation Summit, the Director of the Information Division at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, 李建璋, shared his vision for a HIS platform based on FHIR, aimed at making medical data usage more accessible. The reuse of data has been a headache for neuroscientific research. I strongly agree with this vision, and every stage needs to be clarified, such as data sharing consent and privacy without a doubt. At the end of the day, it is about understanding the choices you can make, which have been contributed by others

1e film for Taiwan Hospital as preparation for the #virtualcaretrip from @coincide which is happening in october 2024 Interview with Director Wang from the IT Department of the Taipei Hospital from the Ministry of Health and Welfare. 400 beds, 1500 employees, 200 doctors & 500 nurses. https://lnkd.in/eyJxW-6N https://lnkd.in/e3XHuVKn It's interesting how a country which has a top national healthcare system (#1 versus NL #4) copes with the incredible need for Taiwanese people to see the doctor about 20 times a year (which is insane) and still is able to function. It uses 6% of the gross national product which is not enough which can only be done by using digitalisation in the most efficient way. For the whole hospital, they spend $1 to $3 million dollars of IT per year with 10 people on a staff of 1500! How can they do things so efficiently? The second biggest hospital in Taipei and Dir. Wang gives an short introduction about the hospital & the Taiwanese healthcare system and we're talking about the smart healthcare system. Taiwan hospital are building a completely new building and are redoing the implementing of all the smart health care systems they are already using enting in the old building, Taiwan hospital has already a digital HIS system for 20 years which is connected to the national system which connects al systems. Wang discusses how you can, as a doctor, only get access to the patient records if the smart card from the patient and the smart card from the doctor are inserted in the terminal at the same time. The doctors are extremely efficient doing 50 to 100 patients per shift of 4 hours, so between 2 and 4 minutes per patient. Once the patient is seen, they can go to the pharmacy and 10 minutes and after they have paid the co-payment of 2 or 3 dollars the recipe is ready. Extremely efficient system. On the app they can at home when the doctor can see them and once they arrive at the hospital, the waiting time is of 5 to 10 minutes. The HIS is systematically organized. Every bed has a patient display which shows all the essential information for the patient and for the doctors and that dashboard per patient is implemented at a price $100 dollars a bed. They have dashboards for everything and the hospital information system makes it very simple to work with as a doctor or as a nurse. They are using AI on X-rays and all the other imaging systems for already 10 years are experimenting with AI systems based on Chatgpt API listening to the conversation between the doctor, nurses and the patient which is automatically transcripted and made ready to include in the HIS after the medical personal approves it. Dir. Wang is describing all these systems and discussies the next version of the hospital information system which is being developed

“Industrial organizations are collecting more data from a variety of sources than ever before. However, technology, security, and governance barriers often make this strategic asset siloed at the time of collection, making it difficult to access to even internal departments.” Ronan de Hooge recently wrote a piece for MONOist discussing the growing importance of the #industrial ecosystem and the need for increased collaboration in the #manufacturing industry. Ronan emphasized how sharing #data across organizations can bring value to decision-making and ESG goals but explained that Japan’s manufacturing industry faces challenges in doing so.
