“Christen became my manager after my department merged with hers. She was always supportive, blocking off portions of her busy schedule for us to come with her with any questions or concerns. She trusted us with our work, allowing us to manage our workload in ways that worked best for our individual strengths but that still contributed to our overall team goals. She was also able to work well within the constant changes and limitations characteristic of a start-up environment. She's able to use the tools provided to her to excel at her task. She's also inquisitive, both to understand the issues and challenges facing those in her department but also to understand the bigger picture. She's able to effectively manage and communicate with all kinds of personalities, both those in her charge and those she reports to. ”
