When making purchasing decisions, potential customers in the marketplace will often have a few layers of influence impacting their decision to buy. In a recent article https://zurl.co/QbcS, I detailed what those influences are and why it is important for companies to understand them. At estound, we call those layers of influence “Buying Circles.” But buying circles can be complex: it’s not just about identifying who has influence in the buying process or how they exert that influence, it is also about WHEN they will be influential within the process. Don’t think your company is impacted by poor or nonexistent brand strategy?? Here are 3 ways your brand is being portrayed to a customer or potential buyer: 1. Sales Experience Leading from your C-Suite all the way down to the newest Sales Associate and Marketing decks, how will this prospect (aka human) be engaged and processed. What will they hear? What will they see? What will they desire? Why will they care? 2. Content Experience From Marketing to Website and newsletters to interviews, what story is being told from the mouth of the content you can control? Will you sales and buying experience be connected to this? Don’t lead someone astray by posting a holiday post on the company social. 3. Customer Experience If they even get this far (based off of the first two), than it better replicate what you shared with them in the Sales and Content experience. Are they being treated with love and care? Have you truly given them the experience they were promised? Are you leading them to their promised land…. There are so many other micro touch points within these elements that add to or take away from a brand experience. But before you go all Indian Jones and attempt to escape these pieces, I challenge you to consider them in your business or department roles.
