WARP has completed over 10,000 pick-ups and deliveries in just Los Angeles! Here’s a quick history of logistics in LA and WARP’s innovations to build the future in the industry: LA has long been a hub of logistics and transportation, playing a critical role in moving goods across the United States and globally. The city's strategic location, extensive infrastructure, and ports like the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach make it a key player in the logistics industry. During the Gold Rush era, LA began to develop as a major logistics center. The construction of the first railroads in the 1870s, led by the Union Pacific Railroad, connected LA to the rest of the country, facilitating the movement of goods and people. The Port of Los Angeles, established in 1907, quickly grew to become one of the busiest in the world, handling a wide array of imports and exports. The aerospace industry and the interstate highway system, with significant contributions from Union Pacific Railroad, BNSF Railway, Caltrans, @Boeing, Northrop Grumman, and Lockheed Martin, have cemented LA's role as a critical distribution point for goods by leveraging the city's extensive network of highways, railroads, and ports. In 2022, the Port of Los Angeles handled over 10 million TEUs of cargo, and the Port of Long Beach handled over 9 million TEUs of cargo, making it a key gateway for trade with Asia. About 580,000 jobs in LA County and over 1 million statewide are supported by the ports. The Port of Los Angeles generated over $276 billion in trade value, significantly contributing to the local and state economy. The Inland Empire has over 1.6 billion square feet of warehouse space and more than 4,000 warehouses and distribution centers as of 2023. This area has become a critical logistics hub due to its proximity to LA and the availability of space. We are proud to be headquartered in the heart of Los Angeles, building on its rich history in logistics and continuing to push the industry forward with our cutting-edge solutions and dedicated service! #technology #middlemile #logistics #supplychain #crossdock #freighttech #sustainability #losangeles

Are we your supply chain soulmate? Here’s how we became the perfect match for a big box apparel retailer. Our client has struggled in the past with cost management and shipment handling to their distribution centers. Before, suppliers would send all their POs directly to the retailer’s DCs using legacy LTL carriers which led to consistent delays, damages, and inventory balancing issues to meet demand. Now, with WARP, service levels and costs are consistent and predictable with added flexibility.    How we did it? Instead of having the suppliers send all of their POs directly to the DCs via individual LTL carriers, we have our local box truck/cargo van/53 ft drivers make local milk run pickups from each supplier’s warehouse to then be consolidated at WARP cross-dock. From here, we send out weekly, consolidated volume to the retailer’s DCs. The DCs themselves love this since they accept palletized shipments and don’t have to deal with hundreds of loose cartons and multiple trucks taking up multiple dock spaces at unpredictable times.   Freight. Optimized. ✅ #innovation #technology #middlemile #logistics #supplychain #freighttech #retail #commerce

“Only 1 star because -1 star is not an option” Here are new legacy LTL carrier Yelp review highlights! ❌ Damage to Freight: Goods arriving damaged and insurance not covering used materials. "The company that I ordered paddleboards from used a legacy LTL carrier. When the items were delivered, the packaging looked fine, but one had two large gashes from forklift prongs. The packaging had been repaired to cover up the damage before delivery. Their incompetence cost me $300 in return shipping, and they denied the claim." ❌ Poor Customer Service and Claims Handling: Unresponsive support and denied claims. "We had several battery deliveries arrive short via a legacy LTL carrier. Claims were submitted and denied. Calls to the claims office automatically disconnect. We have informed our suppliers not to ship via this carrier." At WARP, we believe our customers and freight deserve better. Freight has feelings too! Here’s how we avoid these problems and provide a reliable LTL service: ✅ On-Time Deliveries: What sets us apart is our approach: we don't own the assets, enabling us to prioritize customers over covering fixed overhead costs. We leverage third-party providers with multiple vehicle sizes to enhance flexibility for our customers. We minimize delays and guarantee consistent arrival times by constantly re-optimizing routes and schedules. ✅ Damage-Free Shipments: To minimize damage, we partner with smaller third-party cross-docks that are less congested to provide more attention to our pallets. We never stack freight to protect delicate items and prevent excessive pressure on them. We have careful loading and unloading procedures with strong packaging to reduce the risk of damage. We provide communication channels between carriers and shippers to ensure proper handling requirements are met, reducing the risk of damage and ensuring safe arrival at their destination. ✅ Reliable Tracking: We offer end-to-end live tracking, providing real-time status updates and ETAs to minimize the risk of lost freight. Our Cross-Dock App provides real-time updates on pallets at WARP facilities, integrated with our warehouse management and route optimization systems for efficient freight management. Our local pick-up and delivery tracking system, powered by our driver app, offers real-time updates, enhancing communication and planning. For long hauls, we aggregate data from ELDs through API integration, providing insights into vehicle and driver performance, and ensuring timely deliveries and safety compliance. This streamlines the entire shipping process, minimizing delays and optimizing routing. Plus, you can share our public order tracking link with your team or customers so they can see their shipments in real-time. ✅ Exceptional Customer Service: We’ve got deep experience in logistics with dedicated support representatives available 24/7. #innovation #technology #middlemile #logistics #supplychain #freighttech

Behind the vibrant displays lighting up the sky lies a complex and fascinating supply chain. Let’s talk about the freight statistics surrounding fireworks for the Fourth of July this year. The United States imports 90% of its fireworks from China, highlighting the crucial role of international logistics in ensuring timely deliveries. With the lifting of various trade restrictions this year, there's been an increase in fireworks import, reflecting growing consumer demand. A recent survey by the National Retail Federation indicates that around 68% of Americans plan to purchase fireworks, a slight increase from last year. The total expenditure on fireworks is projected to exceed $1.5 billion, driven by a combination of price drops and increased disposable income among consumers. The logistics behind delivering fireworks to retailers and consumers involves precise planning and coordination. The Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach are critical entry points, where imported fireworks are then transported via a network of trucks and rail to distribution centers nationwide. Interestingly, this year has seen a decrease in fireworks prices due to several factors, including improved supply chain efficiencies and reduced shipping costs. This price drop is encouraging more consumers to purchase fireworks, further boosting demand and straining logistics networks. From the manufacturing plants in China to the ports, trucks, and warehouses across the United States, the journey of each firework is a testament to the power of global logistics. Let’s also appreciate the intricate efforts behind the scenes that ensure a seamless and safe celebration. At WARP, we take pride in delivering to retail and distribution centers nationwide. Our National Distribution service ensures that once your products arrive at the warehouse from the port (after drayage), we handle the rest. We simplify your distribution with efficient transportation and cross-docking solutions. Here are the services we offer that help with nation-wide distribution: - Same-Day Service: Early morning drop-off and pick-up options for your shipments, exclusive to our service. - Appointment Scheduling: We can schedule an appointment for you at pickup, multiple docks, and retail destinations. - Scan Events for High Visibility: Scan events track every pallet in and out, ensuring comprehensive shipment tracking for all your deliveries. - Shrink-Wrapping Service: Let us handle the shrink-wrapping for you at our cross-docks, ensuring compliance with carrier and receiver requirements. - Sorting by PO: At our cross-dock, we receive the container, unload it, segregate boxes by PO, and palletize them for efficient handling. - Flexible Shipment Options: You can mix and match transportation providers. You can use WARP for cross-docking and a piece of your transportation or just use WARP for cross-docking and arrange your transportation. #innovation #middlemile #logistics #supplychain #freighttech

Here are WARP's Most Popular LTL Lanes of June 2024 and common issues using legacy LTL carriers vs WARP’s LTL. Delayed Freight ❌ Legacy LTL: LTL carriers prioritize consolidation over customer experience due to terminal and truck costs. This lack of transparency results in inconsistent deliveries, which disrupts order fulfillment and labor planning. LTL carriers also do not care about missing pickups if your product is minutes late or there's any miscommunication on the dock - they just leave, causing further delays and dock congestion. ✅ WARP's Solution: What sets us apart is our approach: we don't own the assets, enabling us to prioritize customer satisfaction over covering fixed overhead costs. Instead, we leverage third-party providers to enhance flexibility and responsiveness when serving our customers. This flexibility allows us to tailor solutions to specific needs, ensuring a seamless and reliable experience for all involved. Our dynamic line haul optimization system revolutionizes efficiency in freight transport. We minimize delays and guarantee consistent arrival times by constantly re-optimizing routes and schedules. Damaged Freight ❌ Legacy LTL: Damages may occur due to inadequate handling during loading, consolidation, and unloading. Insufficient packaging protection against rough handling and limited visibility throughout the shipment process are factors. Poor communication between carriers and shippers regarding handling requirements increases the risk. Additionally, congested terminals and overcrowded trailers can lead to products being stacked or squeezed, increasing the risk of damage during transit. ✅ WARP's Solution: To minimize damage, we avoid stacking freight to protect delicate items and prevent excessive pressure on them. Our careful loading and unloading procedures and durable and strong packaging protect items from rough handling. We provide clear communication channels between carriers and shippers to ensure proper handling requirements are met, reducing the risk of damage and ensuring the safe arrival of products at their destination. Lost Freight ❌ Legacy LTL: Typical LTL tracking lacks real-time status updates for a shipment's first and last mile legs. This is due to limited visibility and scan events throughout delivery and terminal networks. Inadequate tracking can lead to lost products. Poor communication between shippers and carriers about shipment details and handling instructions increases the risk of missing items. ✅ WARP’s Solution: We offer end-to-end live tracking, providing real-time status updates and ETAs to minimize the risk of lost freight. We have communication channels to ensure seamless interaction between customers and our software platform. This commitment to transparent and accessible communication enables us to address any issues promptly and efficiently, further enhancing the reliability of our tracking system. #innovation #technology #middlemile #logistics #supplychain #freighttech

New legacy LTL carrier Yelp review highlights! ❌ Shipment Delays: Significant disruptions due to late deliveries. "Their incompetence cost me several thousands in reordering and delays." ❌ Lost Freight: Items going missing in transit. I contacted them and was told it appears the item was at the dock but never left the dock, and its location is currently unknown." ❌ Poor Customer Service: Unprofessional communication and lack of responsiveness. "The email from them has 'NO REPLY NECESSARY'. They don't want to hear about the issues they've created." ❌ Damage to Freight: Goods arriving damaged and insurance not covering used materials. Everyone likes to talk about tracking and visibility in freight. Here’s our approach that allows real-time monitoring of shipments, enabling proactive management of delays or issues. Cross-Dock App + WMS: Our proprietary tech monitors pallets at WARP cross-dock facilities, providing real-time updates as freight is scanned into our facility, loaded on the truck, and departed for its destination. The Cross-Dock App is connected to our internal warehouse management system which is also connected to our route optimization algorithms. This integration ensures that every movement within the cross-dock is tracked, and freight is managed efficiently to minimize delays and optimize routing. Local Pick-up and Delivery: Our local pick-up and delivery tracking systems offer precise visibility from pick-up to final delivery ensuring every leg of the journey is monitored and optimized. WARP’s driver app offers real-time updates on the exact location of loads along the route. It tracks route completion times, delays, and expected delivery times, providing shippers with valuable information to enhance communication and planning. Drivers input status updates directly into the app, which helps reduce uncertainty and improves delivery reliability. This level of visibility ensures that every leg of the journey is monitored and optimized, facilitating better coordination and efficiency in the supply chain. Linehaul: In addition to driver app usage, we have other ways to ensure top notch tracking on longer hauls. Our system aggregates data from many Electronic Logging Device (ELD) platforms through API integration, providing insights into vehicle and driver performance. This includes monitoring engine hours, ignition status, GPS location, miles driven, and driver activity metrics, all accessible through WARP’s Driver App. Shippers receive real-time alerts about their shipments, enhancing communication and improving fleet management. This integration not only ensures timely deliveries but also enhances safety compliance by providing detailed performance data. WARP’s platform makes sure you're always receiving instant notifications about any delays, issues, or changes in your shipment status. This way, you can handle any problems before they become bigger issues, keeping your supply chain running smoothly. Plus, you can share our public order tracking link with your facilities or customers so they can see their shipments in real-time. This level of transparency means no more time-consuming calls or emails for updates, making everything more efficient and keeping everyone happy. #innovation #technology #middlemile #logistics #supplychain #freighttech #crossdock
