    Last week, TV One and CLEO TV headed to New Orleans for the 30th annual ESSENCE Festival of Culture! Thousands of fans were treated to a preview of two exciting, new series while making their way through the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Additionally, Celebrity chef and bestselling author Jernard Wells (host of CLEO TV’s “New Soul Kitchen” and “New Soul Kitchen Remix”), participated in a “Real Men Cook” panel on the Suede Men’s Stage. In conversation with ESSENCE’s Entertainment Editor, Okla Jones, Chef Jernard was joined by Marlon “Chicken” Williams (owner of Chicken’s Kitchen), actor Omar Dorsey (“Queen Sugar”) and Greg Tillery (Founder of the We Dat Food Truck) to share their journeys on the road to becoming leaders in the culinary world. Chef Jernard also teased his new, TV One series “Savor the City” – COMING SOON! You can learn more about the ESSENCE Festival of Culture “Real Men Cook” panel HERE. On the ESSENCE Festival of Culture’s Main Stage, TV One hosted a “Raising Fame” panel featuring the show’s hosts Sonya Curry and Lucille O’Neal alongside special guest Jonnetta Patton – mother of Grammy Award winning superstar Usher. Moderated by Michelle L. Rice, President of TV One and CLEO TV, the ladies engaged in a lively discussion on what fans can expect from the new series, nurturing superstar children, managing their own careers and a whole lot more!

    3x GRAMMY-winning global superstar Ludacris joined Urban One for a full “Luda Day” at Cannes on Influential Beach to celebrate the impact of Black culture on Juneteenth!   Urban One’s CEO Alfred Liggins sat down with Ludacris for a special ONE-on-ONE conversation to discuss representation, Black excellence and history. Ludacris’ day with Urban One was also a “full circle" one. He shared how he started his career as a DJ on Urban One-owned station 97.5 FM, now 107.9 FM.
