Where The Forest Meets The Prairie

About us

Todd County is uniquely located in Central Minnesota, quite literally, “where the forest meets the prairie”. The land in Todd County is very unique with lakes, agriculture, rivers, and interesting rolling hills called “drumlins”. These hills are located on the eastern portion of Todd County and are geological features left over from the last ice age and the receding glaciers. The western portion of Todd County is the prairie. The land is much flatter with the Long Prairie River cutting through some of the landscape. Visitors to Todd County can take a scenic drive through Swanville and see the beauty of the “drumlins” and the rolling hills and valleys. The “drumlins” are also visible on Hwy. 27, running east and west, between Little Falls and Long Prairie, right in the heart of Todd County. Visitors can see the lakes and prairies by continuing on Hwy. 27 west or take Hwy. 71 from Sauk Centre north through Todd County. Todd County is “where the forest meets the prairie.”
