SIGN THAT BEAM: We celebrated a major milestone today in our Main Terminal expansion project! 🥳 The TPA team and our construction partners HENSEL PHELPS gathered to sign one of the final beams to be used in construction of the Red Express Curbsides, which are on schedule to be completed in Summer 2025. IN THE HOT SEAT: Last night, TPA CEO Joe Lopano visited nonprofit startup hub Embarc Collective to chat with Embarc CEO Lakshmi Shenoy about his career, his philosophies and how he created a customer-focused, award-winning team at Tampa International Airport. More than 100 entrepreneurs, business leaders and startup innovators got to hear about Joe’s journey from New York cab driver to CEO and ask his thoughts on Tampa’s growth and the future of the aviation industry.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Young women interested in entering the field of aviation have until the end of July to pursue an opportunity to help pay for their education. HAPPY CAMPERS: Today, a special aviation summer camp held by the Florida Aerospace Training Center in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay provided a group of local girls an all-access, behind-the-scenes view of various careers in aviation. From an Airfield Operations tour of TPA’s runways to a behind-the-scenes look inside the Main Terminal, the group explored numerous areas of the Airport and had a chance to learn about the many careers available to women in the heavily male-dominated field of aviation. CONGRATS, KASEEM: Kaseem Mabry, Director of Enterprise Application Services from TPA’s IT Department, recently became the latest member of the TPA team to be accepted into Leadership Florida. He will join the 2024-2025 Connect Class, which is designed to help develop Florida’s existing and emerging leaders between 25 and 39 years old. The program brings together a diverse group of professionals from across various industries with the goal of developing, connecting, and inspiring these leaders to make Florida a better place. HELLO, WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON: On October 18, Breeze Airways™ will launch nonstop service to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. COFFEE WITH A COP: This morning, TPA hosted an event designed to bring together our Airport Police officers and the community they serve. There are currently 81 sworn officers working for TPAPD, putting their lives at risk to keep others safe. ❤️ Many of these brave individuals stopped by today to chat with those they protect over a cup of coffee.
